Modbook - I WANT ONE!!!!

Ok maybe I'm just being silly here, $2400 for a MacBook but the idea is still good!..

Just imagine laying down on the sofa, or in the garden etc.....Tapping away on IM or Surfing or especially watching an episode or movie?

Just been snooping around (bored) and found some real shots of it, as it was only officially released 31st Dec 07!.

I personally thought it might be a bit heavy, but having had a MacBook it wont be much (if anything) more than that in weight?

On their own website forum they said they have no plans for a ModBook Air, as they focusing on this ModBook.

It looks okay, and there seem to be plenty of people crying out for one. edit - a Mac Tablet that is

I'm certain Apple are working away on something similar because that screen is just crying out for a multitouch interface. I don't think we'll see it for a while though.

No its not, its a pen tablet behind the mac book display, it is not touch sensitive, i.e. you have to use the pen provided. It won't accept finger input.

Thats standard on most full size tablet PCs and is in many ways better than simple pressure sensitive touch screens.

Indeed, it's a nice concept, I don't see apple doing it as it's too big to fit in your pocket (and too close to the ipod touch / iphone in terms of target market) and not big enough to do serious work on. Microsoft's UMPC push pretty much failed as well.

It'd never have an optical drive either....

Aye I suppose it aint a great idea for a purchase! Since I have a lot of other gadgets I want

But I will file that idea for later reviewing in the next couple of months
