Just moddified my P&C 510w DLX

Not the most amazing mod, but needed to be done!

As standard it has a horrible noisy 44db fan which exhausted a lot of warm air! Fitted two 80mm Ambers so now at 21db :) Seems to be running fine with no changes to the rock solid lines so far!

Just made an excellent PSU more bareable :)

Be very careful using that psu now - I know of two other people who have done the same type of thing and their psu failed within weeks, and in one case it melted and took out the rest of the pc. They use the noisy fans for a reason.

Thanks for heads up,
No problems here, no voltage fluctuations or problems as yet. I would expect a warmer PSU to have a few voltage fluctuations as a sign of struggle.

I know I have swapped the noisier fan out, but i have also added another on the main sink. The mesh was dremelled to size and folded into shape in my garage so no risk of any missed burr falling into the PSU.

So 2 fans instead of 1.
Mesh instead of enclosed
No chance of burr/offcuts/debris falling and shorting out.

Flawless so far. :)
