Hi there, i've come to the conclusion my freezer 64 pro is one of the noiseiest fans in my system, i have 3 other fans in my system, all 80mm's and they are silent compared to the freezer 64 pro, and that with it idling at 32c...

So basically im wondering if anybody would think it would be posiible to perhaps stick a different fan on the cooler? Just an idea, i'll have a look into it obviously before i actually do anything!

Any comments are welcome.

I've heard of people hanging 120mm fans infront of them before. Should be possible to rig something up. I think someone on these boards has done it, if they have hopefully they'll be able to post some pics for you.

Is it still noisy with the fan turned down? I thought these things are supposed to be quiet...

Yeah they are apparently, but mine seems to be a tad on the noisey side :/...Well, wen i un-plug it briefly the noise level on a whole definetly drops.

Yeah i think i saw some kind of mod like that, might just have to give it a go, i mite even try it with a spare 90mm fan i have just for the sake of it and look at the temps.

Well, i havent turned down the fan speed as its jsut connected to my motherboard? Sooooo...I dont know.

How are your temps?
If its running cool just buy a resistor or a cheap fan controller.

They are supposed to be quiet with the fan turned down.

With my dfi expert I could have the fan barely spinning up till it needed too, which I set at about 45degrees. It hardly ever reached that point and was totally silent

The Freezer Pro 64 was awesome and I was considering getting the 775 version for £11 in this week only to swop with my zalman, just missed out though back up again.

The temps are fine...i just dont like the noise its generating anymore. I can live with it, like i have been, just be nice to quieten it :)...

Hm yeah, i'll have to look into the resistor thing i guess, There is the possibilty of a fan controller also. Just rather have it ramp up etc 'If' it has to :)

I really couldnt tell you Billy?

All i have is the fan plugged onto the cpu connector on my A8N-SLI premium...

Baha, nice :)

@ Billy: I'd have to check once i get home :) I think it's only three? Might be why the noise is so prominent cause it wont ramp down then will it...Hmm, ill keep you posted :)

As its an asus board there should be a q-fan setting in the bios that will ramp the fan up and down depending on the cpu temperature.

Yeah i just thought of the Q-fan thin actually...But yeah, the fan is only a 3 pin...so is the motherboard connector i believe. :)

Ok, you must have an older model then. PWM control would mean it could turn slower at low temps. BUt if the fan and the mobo both don't support it there's not much to be done. :p

Q-Fan is a good start in that it will cut voltage at low temps. Be sure it's enabled.
