Modding consoles (Not priacy related) question

Is it okay to talk about modding consoles on this forum as long as it doesn't involve anything like piracy? For example I'm looking for help modding a SNES to run at 60Hz instead of 50Hz but I'm not sure if this kind of talk is aloud. The mod doesn't consist of 'chipping' the console, just soldering in a couple of switches, resistors and wires.

If you're overclocking it don't forget to pimp it out with an acrylic side panel and some cold cathodes.

I don't see why this wouldn't be allowed.

Yeah I didn't think it wouldn't be allowed but I didn't enjoy my last holiday to banville .

Anyway, I finally found the guide for my version of the SNES, it's in German though so it's not very clear. Anyone care to help traslate it into proper english please? I think I know what to do following this guide but the Google translation isn't great.

Do you have the newer version with the single large CPU and no PPUs too? I have one with the PPUs (Which there are loads of guide for) but messed it up and now the screen has been pushed down by about a third .

I've done it . 60Hz and NTSC goodness ! I ended up doing it the painstakingly hard way of remove a chip on the newer version of the SNES and soldering it onto the older version of the SNES . Now I just need to sort the case out.
