Hey guys, I recently bought an NZXT sentry controller but to my dismay learned that it doesn't have 4-pin fan support, only working through voltage control
I was annoyed at first but then realised that this makes a great excuse to start learning about cable braiding and modding in general!
I want to mod my two noctua fans and two silent eagles from 4-pin to 3-pin
I understand that I can simply connect the ground, +V and third feedback wires but I will need new cable ends as the sentry has a little cage around its fan connectors. Since the fan cables themselves are modular, I thought I may as well make brand new cables without butchering the current ones. I can then braid them too
.
Has anyone done this kind of thing before and did you have difficulties? Will I need any tools like a soldering iron or crimper?
Cheers
