Hello everyone againg. well as u may know, i have this case.
Thermaltake Xaser MX (VH9000BWS)
VH9000BWS.jpg

if u check picture u will notice where i want to make the windows, on the plastic transparent x shape window off course.

i want to make some custom mod/hardmodding on it. i want to put a 80mm and 120mm in the window. also i would like to hear some options or something cool that can be done with this case. i havent found any picture or even a comment about this case, and the modding possibilities.

please help me about how i can do it, or what could be nice looking. i think about the fans because of the cooling solution (9800gx2 heat-monster card, that "·!%% raises temp 10-20%). i just want it to have a better ventilation but i want to hear about options.

also i have another problem with this case. the power x shapen boton led, its a 3pin conector. i use a evga 790i ultra sli board. the power led conection is 2 pin, how do i make to turn this led on? i have tried to conect it to the 3pin fan conector but it doesnt work. so anybody helps?

Is it a 3 pin but with only 2 wires running out of it? a bit like the left end of the pic below?

If yes then just move 1 of the pins in the 3 pin plug so it matches up with the mother board socket (pay attention to polarity or it wont work) I had to do this on my Lian Li case power LED from case was 3 pin.

I have an EVGA 780i with a 2pin on the Mum board so moved the wire over and plugged it in. works fine

sry didnt get it. u mean, taking out one of the pins?
the PowerLed cable that comes with the case is a 3pin conector, like fans. the problem is that 790i ultra sli evga only has 2 pins for the PowerLed. and i have tryed to conect only 2 in good and bad polarity, also i changed concetors one with the others but nuthing work. is there some king of 3pins converter to 2 pin?

im really mad about this. im not able to turn that led on T_T.
going back to the mod thing. any suggestion? i want to add a 120mm fan in the lower acrilic window and may be make perforations between the Powersupply and the front panel conectors inside the case so i can plug a perfect 80mm fan in the upside to exhaust air from the case.

about the picture
i can see image perfectly, at home and all thing blocked work computer.
heres a link qhere u can see 1million pics about this case.

Get a pic up of your connector! I was just looking in the online manual and it showed these as your connectors? for LED, switch etc?

pin.jpg

So looking at that, the power LED is/or is supposed to be a molex connector? but your saying you have a fan type 3pin connector!

I thought you ment the hard drive activity light, sometimes they come with a 3 pin connection aswell! sorry for confusion

I had this problem with a Xaser 3, 3pin case connector but only 2pin connector on the motherboard. My solution was to take a sharp knife and cut down the middle of the middle empty pin section on the case connector and then it was possible to connect it up properly.

the PowerLed Conector is exactly like the SW Conector u see there but +1Pin. so is alil bit more fat. its like the head that has to be plugged in the cable that u show in the picture a few posts ago.

no way. i can sell board later when i upgrade. there should be another option

about modding the case? anything?

This is what I meant for you to do! (oh and dont take it that I have the polarity right either, I just did as quick as I could)

Your board plug...

jak731 didnt want you to damage your board! he wanted you to cut the case plug in half so you could fit it on the motherboard! like this..

This is exactly what i meant, should have drawn a picture to make myself clearer. andybenn's solution is much better anyway tho. I think i might have tried moving the pins and found it too awkward and just gone for the brute force approach, this was a few years ago mind.

dot worry. it worked on perfection to me. but i was having some weird thinks with a very small screwdriver and a hammer them i think about a knife from kitchen and my bistury, anyway, brain beats muscle againg XD

so can anyone hep me or suggest me for the fan modding?

Edit; uploading picture or results.
