hey guys, i just baught 4 3mm green leds and 4 5mm leds that run on 3v. i was just going to fidde about with cirtuits and make them light up ect but now im thinking of putting them in my armoursuit (taking out the current leds and soldering these on) does anyone know if this will work?
thanks

If those LEDs are identical to ones in fans then it would be possible to change them.
Otherwise it won't be that simple.

changing the LED's in LL 140mm fans is possible but difficult if you are not skilled with soldering. the wires are very fine and theres not a lot to play with. you need to trim them as close of the old LED as possible, then pop the LED out. It's glued in with hot glue.

you then need to strip the wires very carfully, there is no room for error here. add the new LED's and use the full length of the stalks / wires that come off them.

not impossible but is quite hard and easy to **** up :)

Yate loon do some 140mm x 25mm led fans with either red, blue or green leds have a google and you should find them and they are under £6.00 a fan.

they do indeed but they don't shift very much air. specially if you're planning on using them as the front 3 fans on this case.

Yate loon D14SL-12s? 1000rpm and 46CFM of air. I have a pair of D12SL-12's in the front of my case turned down to 900rpm and they keep my rig nice and cool.
