I'm going to reinstall Oblivion with mods, as previously I only played the vanilla game. I don't want to spend months adding every mod under the sun, only those with a real impact, and I want to do it simply :p

I have done a search, and most threads involve adding about 30 mods and seem to be written for the already experienced Oblivion modder :eek:

I have Oblivion installed, with all official patches.

I've done a bit of reading, and think I want to install the following mods;

Unofficial Oblivion Patch 351
Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul 1.35

Is there anything else worth adding for someone who isn't going to notice minute changes to the game? There seem to be many versions of the same type of mods eg 5 different weapon mods, so it's difficult to know which to install (if any).

Getting on to the real crux of the query; how do I go about installing these mods? I thought it would be a simple copy and paste job, but apparently not, and I need to install BAIN? Is BAIN the same as Wyre Bash?

Any quick pointers appreciated :)

A good start to learning how and which mods are good are the S.T.E.P set of mods. They come with a step by step intro of how to install everything (not just the mods, the installers etc too).

On downside is that there are a lot of mods for it, you can just install the core ones which make it a little better

EDIT: You said Oblivion and I can't read :( Sorry

I would go for Quarls texture pack. It is simple to install and offers a big improvement over the stock textures. A vegetation mod also adds a lot to the game graphically with minimal effort- can't remember which one I used though.

It might be worth doing the sewer tutorial level first, then creating a save once your outside and modding from there so the changes are easy to see.
