Just wondering if any of you had done this? Obviously the back plate is the biggest problem, I haven't looked at the pin alignments yet.
Is it a good idea, or definately not worth it.
It's been on my to do list shortly after my shuttle mobo died and I saw the Zotac 9300 come out. I've got a G5 chassis and I think that with a couple of snips I can make room for the back plate by expaning it into the first PCI slot, which the single PCI-E slot of the Zotac won't need anyway.
The main problem I've thought of while going over it in my head is the power supply encroaching on some of the space the CPU cooler would take up. But to be honest, it's still all in my head and hasnt been properly measured and calculated yet.
I'd say go for it, then I can learn from your mistakes.
Thanks. Well I won't be looking at it for another 2 weeks atleast as I'm on holiday. But will have a look when I get back. I don't have to worry about the PSU too much as I have 120W built into my commell, only if I want move my Q6600 rig in will I have to worry and then that would be a big worry (currently running of HX620 and there's no room for that)
