Modding the NH-U12F?

Basically the " Noctua NH-U12F" CPU Heatsink is slightly too big for my case!

I was woundering if I cut off the copper pipes that stick out the top, will this effect cooling?

If you do that then the pipes will leak and dryout and it will be useless.

Could you not drill 4 holes in the lid for the pipes to stick through ?

Not worth ruining a case for imo. Just take it on the chin, sell the Noctua, and buy one that fits such as the Thermalright Ultra-120.

Maybe I should just leave the side pannel off!

Yeah the NH-U12F is 155mm and the Thermalright is 160.5mm

i think the ninja must be slightly shorter than that as it doesnt have high heatpipes before the fins
