Model Car Racing

There was me picturing a thread about human coat hanger Jodie Marsh and Kate Moss wheelspinning it off the line in muscle cars.

Oh how disappointed I was.

find out what clubs/tracks are local, your choices will probably be saloon/touring cars on road, or if your lucky off road buggys 1/10th either 2 or 4wd. I raced 2 and 4wd off road for about 7 years, stopped a few years back when my local club shut down. The only thing close was indoor on carpet about 40 miles away. Mainly saloons but there were a few heats of buggies, problem was with over 100 people attending the day did drag on a bit and in the end I just wanted my Sunday back!

heavily looked into getting a nitro car but never got around to it i was going to get a hpi savage for messing about on newcastles moor but for some reason i never got around to ordering one

I think there was a massive impload of clubs at the end of the 90's with more and more closing everyweek. Not sure how it is now but in 1998 when I stopped there was about 3 left in the whole of Lancashire!
That was for 1/10th scale off road buggies 2 and 4wd drive races, outdoor on normally local fields etc, winter as I remember used to be a ballache, a sport hall the venue normally miles and miles from home, most were in Yorkshire and it was always an early start and always bloody freezing! In the end as someones said already I wanted my Sundays back and obviously women come into it too.

Many moons ago.

Used to race at club level up till about the age of 15 and then used to compete in the scale saloon nationals up till about 99/00.

Then I discovered girls and cars... :p

Used to race 1/10th electric buggies and saloon at club level for years and competed nationally with the tamiya eurocup for several years as well. Really enjoyed it, but life/uni/etc got in the way and haven't been back since.
