Am I correct in thinking that if I was to purchase a cable router for my BT line, that i would then have to buy a separate modem between the line into the house and the cable router? If not could someone please explain to me what I would need to get it to work.

Thanks in advance.

If you are on ADSL then yes - you need an ADSL modem.
If you purchase a Cable Router then it will not contain the ADSL modem - so you'll need to purchase a seperate modem.

I recently accidentally purchased a WRT320N (wanted wired gigabit).
However without an integrated ADSL modem the device was of no use to me and I really don't want two seperate devices for my connection.

I think you would need a VoIP provider to make public VoIP Calls. I'm not sure what an B "Internet Phone" is. Whether it's a true IP phone for public VoIP or it's like a wifi IP Handset that connects to a Homehub which then uses the PSTN.

Short Answer, dunno.

Don't realy know what it is, at the moment it connects to the BT hub and we pay monthly for 'internet calls', tbh don't realy know a lot about what this actually does. But I was just wondering if it would be possible to keep the BT service but change the router that came as standard. (Its the first white Home Hub by the way).

The phone connects via the BT Hub so you will need the BT Hub linked in with the network somewhere as a gateway for the calls. Not sure if its possible though.

Was wondering if it would be possible to instead of using the BT phones, to use different phones and to connect them up to the vigor via the VOIP connection on them. Anyone know whether this would work or not?
