Modem / Wireless Router combo exists?

At the moment I have a cable broadband connection with Virgin. The cable connects to the cable modem and the cable modem then connects to the wireless router.

Is there such a thing that will work as both a modem and a router? I want to upgrade these two peripherals because i'm having connectivity issues and want to fork out for some quality kit, without having 2 boxes.

you have to use the cable modem, no other option

get a WRT54GL router, and install Tomato firmware on it

mine hasn't crashed, in over a year's use

It needs to be fairly plug and play. Is this so with the one you mentioned?

yup

will 'just work' on the standard firmware too mate, you just plug from modem into the 'wan' port, then plug pc into ethernet 1-4 and it'll work straight off
