Moderate NAT ?

First time on Xbox360 and live, have a Belkin F5D7633-4Av1_UK modem/ router.

PC is wired in and i've set up port forwarding for it, Torrents etc. Then the Xbox is wired in as well, i've tried DHCP but i get a moderate NAT, so i tried port forwarding the XBOX with ports 88, 3074 and manualy setting the IP on the Xbox as static etc etc.

Still comes up as Moderate, also tried turning off DHCP and removing port forwarding and just put the Xbox in DMZ, Still getting Moderate NAT ?

Tbh not tried playing on live yet i just wanted to make sure i had an open NAT before i started

plus i need the single player practise with this controller

Any ideas apart from switching over to a BT Home hub that i've never used.

moderate NAT is acceptable just so you know

its strict that you never ever want to have

You will have to have a good google around as some routers just seem to cause more issues than others. It should be possible tho', maybe there is something special you need to do for your router.

Having said all that tho'. Moderate isn't too bad. As Jongo said, it is strict that you really need to avoid.

Moderate causes me all sorts of problems connecting to some of my friends games. quick matches should be easy enough to get into though.

turn off Upnp on your router and leave the ports forwared. See if it is then open.

Works on my mates netgear. on my draytek i just use upnp and disable port forwarding and it rocks

Moderate caused me problems as well. Some people I could n't talk to or join games with. Others I could. Check out the link below for setting up your router.

Mine was on open/moderate and then without making any changes it went to strict

If it's still moderate with the 360 sitting as DMZ then something weird is happening. Is UPnP switched off on the router? That could be sticking its oar in.

Hey hey happy man now

cheers for the advice, ended up with setting xbox IP etc manualy, port forwarded 88 UDP, 3074 UDP/TCP, DHCP = off, Upnp = off and xbox IP in the DMZ.(even though its not recomended to mix the two ?)

Think the main part though was that after setting up manualy in the Xbox, then making all them changes in the router, i left the Xbox off then restarted the router then turned the Xbox on and ran the Live test.

NAT was then given an "open" Status.

Jumped --- sorry fumbled my way in and had a few games of Halo3 :rolleyes:

deffo need praccy lol i felt like a drunken Noob let loose with a gun (blank firing of course)
