Modern 7800gtx equivalent?

Any idea what the modern equivalent is of an XfX 7800gtx 250mb extreme edition?

It gets about 5200 points in 3dmark06 with the system in sig.

Well it was flagship card till 7800 GTX 512 (not too common) then 7900GTX, then 8800GTX/Ultra, but speed wise I think a 8800GTS 320 would be fair to say better compairing then to now, a 640 would be even more sweet.

The x1950pro is comprable in performance terms.

Well, my 8800GTS 320 scores 10500 in 3dmark06 with my processor in sig, so it's more than a match for the 7800GTX.

I think the 8600 cards would score lower than your GTX, but I'm not too up on that range to be honest.

Usually, folks just buy the fastest thing they can for their budget?

Does it have to be a DX10 card?

Well, I was just sitting here wondering, because one of my two 7800gtx's got nuked when my new bfg psu went bang.

Wondering how the rma will go that is all. Going to be interesting if they are unable to provide a 7800 replacement, as the two are used together normally for sli.

Chances of getting a 7800gtx are pretty slim now I'd imagine.

I'd guess they will probably try and palm off a slightly more recently end-of-line Nvidia card off on you, such as the 7950GT

nope, defo not. Now may be the opportunity to move up though. You'll get atleast a 7900GT back from rma, and coupled with whatever you can get for your 7800GTX, you could get a 320MB 8800GTS and then your laughing

if you get a 7950GT back from RMA, i have a 7800GTX boxed i would be willing to trade
