I'm looking for 'arcade style' action games ..

Bayonetta
DMC
Vanquish
Killer is dead
Dishwasher vampire smile
Furi
Metal gear rising


Are all in my library...
Also metal slug, and shooters like bro force, hyper light drifter I love..

Guilty gear xrd looks amazing but I haven't got any 1 on 1 games because I don't have any friends that play them any more, not sure if it would be the same as playing in the same room getting good at something together.

Any gems I should have? I would love a modern golden axe or streets of rage

I am the hero looked ok but didn't grab me enough
 
There's an indie game called fight n rage which I think is made to look like you're playing an arcade game complete with monitor bulge and chromatic aberration

Unfortunately it's generic anime girl against a bunch of furries and isn't floating my artistic boat. Maybe I should play it first before judging
 
Its a sad state of affairs when you type 'BEST pc beat em up' into google, and streets of rage, golden axe & even altered beast (AB I would LOVE to see a remake with chunky Street Fighter graphics) is in the carousel of games that you can scroll across the top. Theres also, new to me but not all new:

HD Devil May Cry (re?)-release, not new at all I know, and edit* apparently not an HD update
ENSLAVED™: Odyssey to the West™ Premium Edition (looks really naff but apparently could be quite good, Ninja theory)
Aztez (beat em up mixed with some strategy, got a few good reviews)
Charlie murder (from the makers of dishwasher, vampire smile)

Yeah i'm aware... I dont mind crossovers tbh - just wanting anything with some good melee action, if with platforming like in this, fine, if in FPS like Vermintide, thats fine too... (I am really after some good solid beat em ups though)

On that tip I wasn't a fan of Guacamelee really but if you like that sytle I recommend Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight is one of my favourite games of all time! ;)

Hollow knight is another I have just bought. Along with some other platformers, Celeste is one of them. I quite like the look of Swords of ditto too, if it captures the adventure time vibe i'm quite into that. (not sure its as weird as A.T. though)

I dont like the look of those graphics at all.. haha. Who did the sound on that too, its terrible. No impact sounds, terrible leveling & imaging - can you hear how the voices are all different sizes and positions in the frequency range? urgh i think it would drive me mad.. maybe its just the video?

Hopefully devolver will prove me wrong but I think that looks bad on so many levels



Thanks for the heads up though - nice to see more beat em up fans about :)
