So odd request I know, but...

Are there any modern graphics cards (980/970 or 380/390) that still have a mini display port?

Can't be a full size DP or use a converter, must by mDP to mDP.

I think I've looked through everyone on the OCuk site and none of them seem to have one... :(

For the last 5 years I've been using an iMac as a monitor for my gaming PC, problem is it uses an mDP and it's really fussy, won't work with anything else but mDP.

I do plan to replace it over the next 18 months but it's a bit too expensive to get a new monitor, and graphics card at the same time...

OP just use a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable, no convertor needed.

I use them all the time to connect cards to my monitor mDP socket.

Yeah I used a Palit SJS 980 and I had no issues with mDP to DP cable. They only cost a couple of quid too :)

First time I hooked it up I used a DP to mDP cable and it wouldn't work. When I looked in to it people were finding the iMac wouldn't work with anything but mDP to mDP, not sure why.

I currently have a 7970 but the 2560x1440 is making it struggle on modern games...

If I was was spending more than a 970 I would be looking at a 980Ti but maybe that is just me :) A 980Ti is also a good fit for 1440p imo

I have used DP to DP and mDP to DP for 4K 60Hz so I wouldn't expect any issues assuming you have a decent cable.

Problem is the Ti then brings me back to the first problem as they don't have mDP ports! :p

The 980 might be worthwhile for 1440p though.
