Modern Warfare 2 Demo?...

I really do hate it when companies just assume that everyone will buy it, and not bother putting out a demo. Sure - it turns out most everyone IS buying COD4, but still. Its the principal of it that gets my goat.

I'm sure your principles are the last thing they care about. They just don't need a demo and they sure as hell won't make the effort.

Check the poll on this very forum, lot's have/will buy this game yes, but many that would have will not, i know this for a fact, because i am one of them.

I was the same. But I got caught up in the whole 'new game' thing and threw out the window my plan to boycott it. I'm glad I did because IWNet, whilst not ideal, does work ok. Plus, the game is damn fun!

This post reminds me so much of Basil Fawlty. The end of the Waldorf Salad episode. :D

Not sure which level they would even give in the demo to be honest.

Did they do a demo for the original MW ?

Yer they did, it was the mission where you had to get to the bogged down tank (whooosh "Code name... Warpig!") and protect it from the attackers. Ironically that was one of missions I liked the least and nearly stopped me getting CoD4

That was my point :/ That he shouldn't be generalising based on the opinions of a few people on a forum.

I agree. Console sales outweigh the PC niche market these days so take a percentage of an already small market and lost sales won't be enough for them to care about as it was PRIMARILY made for consoles and THEN ported to the PC so any extra sales from PC are just a bonus.

Wait a few months and Activision will say that sales were poor on the PC, the fanbase has shrunk and piracy was rife so the PC market isn't worth as much as it used to be. Do people honestly think that they care about the PC market? If they truly did they wouldn't have removed dedicated servers from the game. People just have to realise this, move on and be grateful that they even had a release on the PC. It wouldn't suprise me if at some point in the future they make COD a console only release, but then again given how easy it is to juts make a console game then port it to PC with no changes and see how it sells it's just an exploitale cash cow really.

A lot of PC games don't really care about the multiplayer aspect and just bought the game for the single player and maybe the odd online game. Yes the majority of this forum wanted dedicated servers, etc but overall its a small percentage of the total game market.
