Modern Warfare 2 - get to front of convoy

Hi all,
I need help. I jumped on the truck with price and used the grenade launcher etc. he told me to grab my own vehicle and get to the front of the convoy, which I did. Now there are no vehicles ahead of me and I’ve been driving forever, seemingly going in a large circle.
If I slow to a stop price tells me to keep going, but there are no vehicles in sight, in front or behind. I was driving in the dried up river bed(?). I tried re-joining the main road, but within seconds I fail with the message that the captors have escaped.
WTH?
I eventually just quit the game.
Is this a bug?

Sounds like it could be a bug, im on that mission at the moment, was loving the game up until now, the convoy mission sucks!

Well I really like the convoy mission, failed quite a few times cos I’m on hard mode, but still.
Anyway there is a YouTube vid where so many people have commented the same as me.

And ‘apparently’ you have to jump in the first truck as soon as price tells you to (towards the end of the mission I guess) and then the mission continues as designed.
If not, you experience what I and loads of others have experienced.
Thing is, not sure I’m willing to re-do the entire mission, so hopefully there is an appropriate saved checkpoint that I can restart from.

Aaaanyway, I did re-do that mission and glad I did, as it did continue correctly.
This game is pretty darned good imo.
