I didn't think that, the way the single player campaign is presented is completely different to COD2. And it was a breath of fresh air seeing as every COD before it was set in WW2 whereas Modern Warfare obviously wasn't. It was praise by the majority of reviewers for ditching the stale WW2 theme so in that regard it was most definitely a fresh experience not just for me but for the majority of the gaming media too.
I agree with you about the control scheme but I don't agree with the 'variety' that Battlefield 2 had. If anything it was a lack of variety. 80% of servers are just playing Warfare or whatever the game mode is called. That's not very varied in my opinion. I also thought the destructable environments in Bad Company were a joke. You blow a building up, only for it to have bugger all inside, or in a few cases, the same table and chairs in every building. What's the point in letting you blow buildings up if they have the same crappy interior in each one?
Each to their own obviously, but I think Modern Warfare 2 will be WWWAAAAYYYYY better than Bad Company 2. I just prefer the play style of Modern Warfare to Bad Company, but it maybe the other way around, we'll have to wait and see....
Definitely not a MW2 killer if it's anything liek BC1.
