Modmic 4.0 too quiet

Hi Guys my audio set up is

Fiio E10K DAC --> Little Dot MKII --> HD600

I have just got a Modmic 4.0 and connected to my mic input on my Asus VII Ranger. With the mic set to 100% volume and 0 mic boost i cannot hear my voice when recording.

When i set the mic boost to +30 i can hear it fine but there is a ton of static noise.

Any idea whats up? Surely it should work fine without a mic boost? Ive updated all drivers to latest versions.

Fairly common issue with the modmic. Mic input on most motherboards work awful with it. Buy the sabrent usb stereo adapter, it's £6 and should sort it out. If it doesn't, then modmic is probably faulty.
