Hey guys,

I own all the STAKER games in normal disk format, but I want to buy them all on Steam when they are on offer (like this weekend).

Now, I was wondering, does anyone have any problems when running the Steam versions with mods?

Thanks :)

I have only used the Complete mod so far, but I have had no problems at all with the steam versions.

Performance on Steam games is the same as non Steam games. All you're doing it downloading it through Steam, the actual game files are exactly the same.

I think he mean the (very) occasionaly problem. Sometimes you might need to defrag or verify the game files from within Steam, which is really not an issue.

The only thing you might need to know, is that before installing a mod you MUST run the vanilla game via steam. I can't explain it in detail because I don't understand it, but when Steam initially downloads a game, the game files are packed or encrypted or something, and you need to play the game at least once for all the files to become normal. Then you can just install the mods.

also because most mods need files that are created on the first run of the game (both disk and steam versions) :p
