Hi

I have a TX650M power supply.

Each PCIe has two 8 pins which can be split to 6 pins.

For my GPU which has 8 pin and 6 pin can I just use one of these cables or do I still need to plug both into the PSU?

Thanks

Some say you don't have to, I say, if they're there, plug them all in.
Newer gen Gpu's can draw more power so you may want to use 2 separate cables from psu to gpu, if you have like a new power thirsty card.

Each 8 pin can supply 150w so each cable will be rated for 300w.

My card used about 200w max and i run off one cable and never had any problems.

I have a mining rig and run 2 cards off each pcie cable at about 200w total...been running 24/7 for 3 years now no problems.

New 3000 series cards hit over 300w so would def use separate cables ofr that

Its for a friend so I will just stick a second in just incase he upgrades his GPU years down the line and would benefit from this.

Thanks
