Whats the difference between these and normal ones?

I think it's to do with the fact that you can cyustomise what connectors are connected to the supply. Seems like a really good idea, means less power cables hanging round in the case.

Looking into one myself, still a bit grouchy about spending mega money on a psu but it needs to be done to keep the beast running right.

Helps with case airflow, but if you have the patience you can do an equally good job of tidying up non-modular

psu is the heart... it keeps the power flowing

a cheapo will see you have a "heart attack" i.e. BANG

Can you buy additional/different termination/lengths PSU cables?

I had a non-modular psu a few weeks back but when i bought a new case i figured i would also go modular - got a 500w Enermax Liberty and so far its done a great job - and i only have 2 of the 6 possible connections 'active' if you will so far fewer cables to clutter the case

It's a v1100+ so bigger and better designed than my old case but still the modular psu helped a lot - if you can justify it then go for it as i can't see the downside ...
