hi - i've seen a number of builds on youtube that have a really nice looking PSU. It has a big upward facing fan with neon lights in it. It is modular and the cables that connect in to the psu are round and have a light around each connector. Which PSU is this? It looks GREAT. Anyone know if it performs well too?
Thanks,
Dub

***EDIT the one in this video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWlnHN2DSu4 - it's named in the info section but i cant find it anywhere..looks AWESOME.

I cant hear it as my ageing system is cooled by 80mm fans.....which are louder than the PSU.

The fan on the PSU is running really slowly, I can barely hear anything from it tbh.

looks like they have moved to a new range.. piperock II.. which doesn't look the same at all :( I guess this good looking range has been discontinued? Can anyone recommend something similar?

cool - do you know if there is much quality difference between this and the newer piperocks and the corsair hx?

hmm it's not on the list of certified psu's at ati's site.. wonder if that makes much difference.. it looks lovely! :)

I think im going to go for it - a place seems to have them in stock but ive never heard of them before so am a bit scared of ordering from there. I read on the customer reviews on a US site that the 900w version hsa some incompatibility with evga x58 boards.. it mis-reports its voltage and causes the mobo to shut down immediately. I wonder if that effects gigabyte boards too...

And Just to add, i have the Zalman, bought it for 2 reasons, 1) they are a well reccomended brand of PSU and 2) The blue light looks pretty darn cool in the pics (and matches the rest of my system) However, it doesnt actually glow as much as it does in the photos, in fact, you can barely notice it.

ive seen this tagan psu on youtube so have a good idea of what it will look like. Is there anything wrong with the tagan psu as far as anyone knows? If works then id like to get it..
