Modular PSU

I've put my system in a home theatre case today (Jonsbo G3 Home Theater PC Chassis... looks like an AV amp... even has a working big volume knob on the front)

i needed a horizontal case due to a room remodel, no room for a tower case anymore.

Obviousely it's a little tighter inside one of these cases... mostly PSU cable looms that get in the way tho, so i'm thinking of getting a modular PSU to cut down on un needed cables impeeding the airflow across the case.

But what one do i need.... ATM i have a OCZ-ZS750W,
This is running a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 main board, with an i5 2500K OC'd to 4.5 gig,

I now have a 'GEFORCE GTX 1060 GT OC DUAL FAN 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD' in it (when the pc was built it had a GTX580 that used a lot more power (needed 2 x 8 pin power connectors, new gfx card uses a single 6 pin)

There's a 500gb SSD in there, and nowt else really... no optical drive, and i have no plans to put one in there, nor will i ever go back to the old style rotating hard drives.

Would a 500 watt psu be more suited to my use now? and do i need one of these gold, platinum or other expensive PSU's, or would a standard £43 bronze one do me?

I only really play one game on this pc, a train simulator, that's all that would tax the system, rest of the time it'll be loafing along.

Any one spotted a good modular PSU at a black friday / cyber monday offer i shouldnt refuse?

Unless you're yearning for medieval design PSU, I would recommend staying in at least 80+ Gold PSUs.
Besides medieval efficiency 80+ Bronzes tend be also lot worser in general performance.

This semimodular Antec would be good starting point, with its 7 year warranty.

It's one of the most compact ATX PSUs and 2cm shorter than your (mediocre) OCZ.

Though if you're going to stay at that level graphics cards, then 450W would be enough, like this fully modular BitFenix:

PSU again is 160mm long like your current PSU.

Seasonic Focus Plus is best priced from high end PSUs (with 10 year warranty) and very compact, like Antec. (which is built by Seasonic)

80+ Platinum efficiency cost's some more.

Difference in efficiency might make about ~5W less heat produced (and power wasted) by PSU during gaming on typical gaming PCF.
