Modular PSUs

I just bought a Seasonic S12 430W PSU and I heard it was a good PSU but it is not modular. What does this mean and will it affect my PC?

Modular simply means that some of the cables can be removed if they are not needed.

Simplifies the cabling inside the PC and looks neater, but no need to worry if you don't have one!

The Seasonic S12's are great PSUs, but the cabling can be a pain in comparison to a modular one. If you decide modular is for you, take a look at Tagan's offerings. If it doesn't bother you then the Seasonic is a fine choice

I've just installed my first modular PSU. A Tagan.
No chance of me ever, (as far as I can see), of going 'non modular' again.
Makes things so much easier to route when you only add the cables you need.

Yea same here, I built a friends PC using a modular Tagan and I certainly know that when I replace my S12 it'll be with a modular unit

Seasonic are bringing out a modular psu soon called the M12....looks really good....hope OcUK get them in soon
