After playing the demo its obvious its a lot better than cod3 and a few of the previous moh games, but thats quite a bold statement (and one I think BIA will have something to say about) but it does have one really positive point which a certain other highly rated fps game seems to lack - "With an excellent mission-rating system in place, it's also one of the few games that gives you an incentive to go back and do better. If only more shooters had such in-built replayability."

i did enjoy the demo but dont know if i agree with the statement. i dont think its the best medal of honor game even, the best being allied assault on the PC.

(although i have only played the demo so the full game may well be better)

Having played the demo... I believe it's going to be very good. I would agree that Allied Assault on the PC is the best MOH so far.

Oh... and I never tire of WW2 FPS :D

MOH games all seem to give me motion sickness. no other game ever has but after 30 mins of playing i start feeling rough. have to stop playing.

not nice!

WW2 FPS is overdone. Its needs a refreshing touch, much like Company of Hero's which revamped the Strategy genre and this theme (ww2)

World War 2 is so overdone, I wonder how the veterans feel about their experiences being used and trivialised over and over for easy bucks?

Gearbox showed off the original BiA to several veterans, and the reaction was universally positive. If anything, these WWII games are a homage to the heroic acts of the greatest generation.

As for WWII shooters. I agree that the conventional "American troops in Europe" setting is overdone. I would like to see the Russian Invasion of Finland at some point, with the player assuming the role of a Finnish sniper (complete with ski gear). Either that or we could have a Spanish Civil war FPS/RPG, with the player forced to pick sides in the conflict.

Brothers in Arms is probably the only thing close to a 'homage'. EA's constant regurtitations of the genre is just a cash cow to them.

The only way the genre can be revitalized is by having it done from the perspective of the Nazis but society is too backwards and PC to even touch such a thing.

You assume the role of a German Submarine Captian in SIlent Hunter III, and you spend most of your time tracking down and sinking civillian merchant ships.

Actually that would be a really nice change for eg: defending beaches in Normandy rather than attacking could be interesting, like surviving the arial bombardment before hand etc etc etc.

As for MoH: Airbourne, I didn't finish the demo I got bored :(

Yes, people play the genocide card too much when it comes to debating whether or not people can participate as the Nazis in computer games, but they just don't realize that the majority of the German army were just ordinary men who wanted to be able to put food on the table for their families, as well as to defend their country. Many Germans were horrified by the Holocaust and other things that the Nazis did, but could not speak out against it.

It's not just another WWII FPS either, it's a lot different from the previous lot of games if you play it through.

Trouble is, what's good about defending the beaches? You sit on a turret mowing people down for an hour before the game either tells you to retreat or you die? :p

Stuff like participating in the original invasion of France etc. would be good, being part of blitzkrieg tactics etc.

I'm with the crowd who love WWII shooters and I'm looking forward to this.
Incidentally, one website says it's in stock and another states the release date is the 7th.
Last time I checked (last week)the release date was set for the 14th.
Can anyone clarify this?

The whole problem is that you are probably American and you are probably fighting in France.

Now if you were a cyborg sent back in time to...say...terminate Hitler...

"Give me your kleidung, schuhe and your motorrad" (Yay babelfish!)

I am all for playing as Germany as well. I always hoped the expansion for the original Call of Duty let you play as the Germans but it was not to be.

Just another WW2 FPS, come there is maybe 3-4 genres, WW2/Current Army/Futuristic Army/Evil monsters shooters.

Its a safe bet for EA to pump out another MOH title, why can they make a Bioshock type game.
