So, I'm pretty sure I'm completely screwed... but here we go...

Around 4 weeks back a flat two floors above us had its water tank burst, this then completely flooded the flat above us before finding its way through to our flat, taking out the electricity and flooding the hallway / portions of the living room. Things were soaked, truly soaked, to the point that if you stepped on the laminate flooring then water would 'squelch' up between the boards.

It took a brief while to get sorted but we got the electricity back on, the floor seemed to dry out.. things were good. However as is probably to be expected we've now got a musty scent permeating throughout the flat.

I pulled up a couple of the easier to access laminate boards and there is a significant amount of black mold on the underside... guess this will be the musty smell then, mold spores, lovely.

I assume at this point there is no other solution than to rip out all the flooring and re-lay the entire thing?

On the plus side, its not my flat as we're only renting, and our landlords so far have been nothing short of fantastic, but the only solution is to get this fixed properly before my lungs start growing mushrooms right?

complain to the landlord tell him one neighbour gets a Sainsburys delivery at 7am and the guy across the road is forever messing with his motorbike.
landlord will feel guilty and sort it for you then kick back with a pack of Richmond sausages on your corner sofa with 80" tv above fireplace and rocking your gucci belt.

You forgot to phone the police too... or is that just for roadworks ?
