Just noticed that i'm not using any of the molex power connectors from my PSU. I cant be the only one?

PCI-Express 6 pin for graphics card, SATA power connector for DVD/HDDS, 3 pin connectors for fans. Is there going to be a point where PSU's no longer have molex connectors? Seems a bit of a waste of cables to me. Although there is the modular PSU route..

I only use molex's for fans other than that no actual hardware, so yeah hardware is starting to make them redundant but we all need fans right? :)

not really, res 1 v1 and v2 dont use any fans what so ever, they dont require 4 pin connector:p and you can cool all your components within the case with it:p

Tis really a trick scene as the res 1 line is'nt powered by the PSU:cool:

I see what you guys are saying, but it cant hurt to have a spare molex or 2 there incase you need to hook up say a cathode, or a fan controller, or anything that runs off 12V really can it?

Molex plugs wont die at all. If anything they may be made smaller, but I dont see it happening for a long time yet. Things like hot-swap bays (Such as the IcyDocks) use 2 molexs for their power. They are sturdier than SATA power connectors too.

If SATA power connectors weren't so weak they could just replace Molex from PSU's with them and supply some SATA>Molex adaptors. Unfortunately that just isn't the case, and all sorts of components and accessories need power.

I'm only using one molex, and that's because I've ran out of SATA connectors and my Raptors can use the molex connector as well as SATA connectors.
