I am so out of touch with hardware, generally speaking what power adapters do modern graphics cards need(high end). I think back in the day it was 1 x 4 pin adapter, but now maybe it's a 6 pin adapter, is so, can you use a molex to 4/6 pin adapter or is it not the correct voltage?

If you are having to use these adaptors, consider if your PSU is up to the job.

Most come with the appropriate number of connectors for the power they output.

The mainstreams cards generally require either:
1. No additional external power require (or known as bus-powered)
2. 1xPCI-E 6pin
3. 2xPCI-E 6pin
4. 1xPCI-E 6pin + 1xPCI-E 8 pin

Do note that the bus deliver max of around 75W, and each PCI-E 6pin deliver max of around 75W, and each PCI-E 8 pin deliver max of around 150W.

When it to powering your system and graphic card, it is not only about having all the required connectors, but you MUST also make sure:
1. The PSU is of a decent quality by a manufacturer with good reputation.
2. The max output on the 12v rail is enough for powering graphic card and CPU, plus comfortable amount of spares for other bits.

Ok it looks like I will need 2 x 6 pin pci adapters, any chance of finding a PSU that has these, they all seems to have 1 x 6 pin pci?
