I've just recived my new 670, and realised I only have one of the two required PCI-Ex cables that go straight from PSU to card.

I however seem to have molex to PCI-Ex connectors Will this be safe to do?

I think I asked OcUK customer service when my R9 290 arrived (first home build so totally clueless) and I asked if I could use the molex connectors, and the chap said I physically could, but it might melt...

I don't recommend you use the adapter cables for full time use under load, they will heat up burn out and set on fire more than likely. You should use the PCI power cables that come supplied from the PSU.

You were referring to the adapters correct?

Yes it should work, but I would take it as a sign that you should look into upgrading your PSU some time soon.

What PSU are you using and what else is it powering?

I have a one of those modular psu, with two slots for gpu's. I had 2 of the 6 pi, but only one of the 8. must have mislaid the other.

I used the adapters and all seems ok.
