Hey guys,

I installed the latest CCC driver for my 2900XT last night and since then every time I boot into Windows I get a ‘mom.exe’ error...

I did a quick Google and I think its ATI related, but I’m not 100%

Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so what’s the fix/solution :)

Cheers,

SW.

Yea I've experienced it.

I re installed the drivers over them and that sorted it :)

ps. I think you sig needs changing :).

Phew, thanks mate ;)

So it's the CCC's... Is it worth downgrading them to a previous version or should I simply instal the same ones over the top of them?

As far as I know, just installing over the top does it, what I did was when I re installed windows, I downloaded the 7.8's, installed them, thought it's weird that CCC failed to load with the mom.exe error, so opened up the installer again, and re installed over them and that sorted it. You could try uninstalling and then re installing if you want, should work fine :)

Okay mate - I'll give that a go.

Btw, do you know what Earthsim is? It's an option to install - I unselected it as well as the Free Game and Steam.

Just to let you know i had the same error first time round, i ended up reformatting as i had a host of other problems to begin with, but a driver-reinstall basically worked.

Just what I've done! Thing is, I'm downgrading to the 7.7's - I'm not taking any chances this time :p

My 600GB RAID0 takes too long to keep formating...

That could be quite possible - I installed the 7.8's on top of an original SP2 CD installation...
