Monacle me a new handset

It's just about upgrade time on my o2 contract. I've got a K700i and I'm looking for a posh new handset, I'd prefer to stick with Sony but if there's a fancy alternative, I could be swayed.

I'm pretty sure they'll offer me a W800i or W810i, is there much difference between them? What's the best phone on the market in this range?

Between the 2 definately choose the w810i as it doesn't have a joystick. There is quite a high return rate for the w800i & k750i because of the joystick becoming faulty. So in w810i the joystick has been replaced with a D-pad. If you can wait a month or 2 it may be worth waiting for the sony ericsson k800i which has a 3mp cybershot camera and 3g

Thanks, my contract is up in just over a month and I think I need to upgrade before then, not sure about that though. The k800i looks awesome but it might be tricky to get one for nothing.

I'm about to post a similar thread. Every contract I've looked at and been offered by my current provider has offered the W800i for free.

Didn't know there was an 810 though, that might be why the 800 is being offered free now.

The W810 comes out on O2 next week iirc.
Nice little phone, had a look at one when the rep came into work the other week. It's pretty much identical to a w800i but it's a different colour, got a dpad instead of a joystick, extra speaker and the screen looks slightly brighter than the w800i.

The w800i is a nice phone, got one myself. Good all rounder really.

I'd settle for the w800i, I'm not bothered about the extra speaker and I've not had any problems with the j-stick on my phone, would prefer something in black mind you.

The colour does seem to be the main thing that's swaying people to wait for the w810.
Personally I'm not overly bothered by the colour.

The W810 has less internal memory afaik.

yeah W810i sounds right for this job, over the W800i it has a larger screen (ok...by 1mm but there you go), quad band, edge (network dependant), has the D pad instead of a joystick, and is black!!!
