I am after a new sat nav unit for my dad, the one he has now is not able to be updated :(

He would like something with British & European roads, but also some that shows positions of speed cameras.

It needs to have a good display and be very simple to use.

Thanks in advance guys.

TomTom One does all of that. You can download european maps and speed cameras from the TomTom website for a fee.

Unit itself is about £180, and European maps about £90.

I got a Navman F20 for Christmas; simple to use (for us old gits) and has the "safety cameras" already loaded. they are on sale for around £140.

pah! iGO 2006 SE is the way to go if you have a PDA. Failing that then i would get a MioMap for a PNA device.

Dont think that is an option, just wants to be a stand-a-lone device that is very simple to use.

Thanks for the reply's

So which is best I could get for about £200 mark?

Another reccomendation for the TomTom one here, best of all is the fact that Halfrauds have the One Europe for £200 at the moment: Clicky :D

Nice one,

Does that TomTom ONE show speed camera locations? it doesnt say on the Halford's site ?

Not by default. The TomTom camera database costs £25 per year IIRC, there are others available though.

Have they sorted the roundabout issue yet? When I had a look at it the voice prompts when approaching a roundabout were stupidly late and there was nothing to indicate which direction you'd be coming off the roundabout, just an exit number. This meant it was virtually impossible to know which lane to approach in.

Graphics were very pretty though I have to say, much more slick than TomTom.

Everything he said apart from the (old git) bit :D

Ok so which out of these 3 would you choose?

TomTom One Europe
TomTom GO 510 (this has the "safety" camera's loaded already)
Navman F20

I know most people said the TomTom One but it doesnt have Safety camera's loaded as default.
