The 330d is about ready for a set of new shoes. At the moment I've got Pirelli P6000s all round. They are 225/45/17.

I am a reasonably high mileage driver so tyre wear is fairly important although I'm reasonably happy with a good balance. The P6000s aren't exactly great on grip but then in another way they add to the fun a little ;). They seem to have lasted quite a while however I will not be replacing them with the same again.

I've currently got a Costco voucher at home for £40 off 4x 17" tyres and they've quoted the following (excluding the discount):

Pilot Sport 2 - £125 Inc. VAT & Fitting (£115 after discount)
Primacy HP - £112 Inc. VAT & Fitting (£102 after discount)

The prices seem pretty good going off what MyTyres sell them for as supply only but I'm just wondering if there is something better than the Michelin's available for either around the same price or preferably cheaper. I know the PS2's are good tyres but my concern is they'll be dead within 9000-10000 miles.

The other alternative is to look for a set of MV2 alloys with some reasonably tyres on as I don't particularly like the wheels I have and like the MV2s (even though they're on loads of 318's :p)

Ta. :)

I am trying to find 2 replacement rears but the silly size makes them pricey. more tha low profiles would be lol. Prices per Tyre: out of this lot what would be the best for under a 100 any advice appreciated struggling and really need to buy some.

Bridgestone D687
235/60 R16 H (100)
£83.53

Goodyear Eagle NCT5
235/60 R16 W (100)
£98.61

Toyo Proxes CF1
235/60 R16 W (100)
£99.30

These are pricey. car currently has p6000

Pirelli P6000
235/60 R16 W (100)
£127.78

Michelin Pilot Primacy
235/60 R16 W (100)
£170.74

Why on earth did you have P6000 on there? :p

Car came with them, cant believe how much they cost, guy that owned it just chucked money at it..good for me in most ways :p

Tire size is stopping most things but I think I will order some Goodyear Eagle NCT5 or camskill has VREDESTEIN SPORTRAC 2 - 235/60R16 100W for 96 a tyre, seems like they have good reviews.

I had NCT5's (previous owner) on my gti6 before these T1-Rs. Was impressed. Wore well and had decent grip in the dry and wet. A good compromise imo. :)

Ta for the suggestions so far.:) Any opinions on the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's? Read a review which gave them the thumbs up although they're the same price as the Michelin/Good-Year type.

He wants good wearing tyres - they are not ;)

Had F1 GSD3 and wasn't hugely impressed. Pretty good grip but didn't last that long at all.

I've got MV2s and a set of PS2s. Costco is £80 off on 18" tyres.

Been looking for a set of MV2s for a reasonable price but they're either totally wrecked or very pricey. Ideally would want something with part worn but still 5mm+.

Hang on didnt you have a ST?

Binned it after 3 months. Apart from the Astra which was my very first car this had to be the worst car I've ever bought IMO.

Came with it :)

Try some Asymmetrics? They're very keenly priced and I've had a couple of sets now - they seem pretty good.

Interesting! What didn't you like about it?

Got the new F1's on the shortlist.

Focus ST did not have German build quality and had too many safety computers telling you what you cannot do. Steering was waaaaaayy too light as well and gave absolutely no feeling at all.
