What I have tried to do is balance price of the F1 grand stand ticket with quality of the view !

We plan to stay in Nice and get the train into Monaco on Race day. So what sights in Monaco after the race can we go visit ?
Also has any visited the Nice area and can suggest any places / sights that we can visit.
I plan to go on the Thursday and leave Nice on the Tuesday. :)

Many thanks

A couple of years ago I was working in Monaco in the build up for the Grand Prix. Managed to finish work a little early, and the people I was working for managed to sneak me in to watch a practice session. I got a seat next the the royal box, by the exit of the pits and it was awesome. Unfortunately I had to fly home that afternoon so missed the remainder of the race weekend
As for sites round Monaco during race weekend its all about the racing, so there is not a whole lot I got to see apart from the circuit, and all the F1 paraphernalia, which is great for an F1 fan.
I did get to walk around the entire circuit the evening before practice, which was also great, but i don't think that's possible on the Saturday or Sunday evenings, as i think they close some of the footpaths.

I've been to Monaco and watched from the P stand (on the marina next to N).

It's not bad place to sit since it's a slow section, though obviously not the best. See if you can check visibility of a screen though, from our position the only screen in view was blocked by an annoying pillar. One bonus is that all the posh ships are right behind you so you get to have a good gander and eat you lunch on the marina dock before the F1 race starts. You get the full fog-horn effect at the end too :)

Can't help much on other things to do though. If it's your sort of thing go for some mountain walks in and around the villages just inland from the coast, it's beautiful up there and there are some very good restaurants in the villages.

Also, there is no shade on that stand so remember a hat!
