Hi All

Never been to an F1 race before. I thought about going to the Monaco GP next year, and treating my parents to it as well as they have never been either.

Looking at grandstands, K seems to be a good one but looking for advice from anyone that has been before on which are the best grandstands.

Using this site: http://www.monaco-grand-prix.com

Was thinking of getting some Rocher tickets for the Saturday too, but then again, might grab some grandstand tickets for Saturday too.

Want to get some booked ASAP.

Thanks
James

I wish you all the best. Just make sure you are ready to blow £3000 on one weekend! Travel and hotels with be extortionate!
Would it be better to start at a cheaper GP race? I hear it is cheaper to fly to Turkey, watch the F1, then fly home than it is just for the Silverstone ticket!

EDIT: Turkey is not on the calender this year so no idea where I got that info from! Monza would be pretty good imo as it is one fast track.

Monaco is a lot of money for not a lot of show, if you are really set on Monaco then go for it but you will probably get a better F1 experience at Spa, Monza etc.

Well we were debating having two weeks in Nice anyway around that time, so it would have been nice to go to the GP. Cost might not be as much as anticipated. Never been that fussed about F1, but as we would only be down the road, it would be nice. I've just read this also:

Wheelchair User Access Monaco Grand Prix

Write a letter to Association Monegasque des Handicapes Moteurs. 9 rue Princesse Marie de Lorraine. 98000 Monaco-Ville. Monaco. France.
Tel: (+377) 93507100
Fax: (+377) 93251780

Send some kind of info to confirm persons disability ie: copy of disability living allowance etc. What days you want to attend, plus if you need parking space. Guess what??? Tickets for disabled/wheelchair user and 1 carer are all FREE you can go Friday,Saturday and Sunday if you wish plus it's free parking as well. No wonder no wonder the info was nearly non existance

As i'm disabled and have CP, I'm going to see if i can get some disabled viewing tickets or something like that, so i don't have to fight with crowds of people in the grandstands.

I relise that other Grand Prix's would be better value for money, but this would be a nice treat for all of us, especially as me and my parents have always wanted to go to monaco so now seems a good time, especially if they have some disabled viewing space.

Cheers
James

I went to Istanbul last season - great grand prix and experience but sadly it has now gone. The stands were half empty so I'm not surprised.

I've already booked my tickets to Monaco next year - don't think we'll bother with qualifying or practice but instead just rock up to the race. We'll either stay in Nice or somewhere further out and just drive in close and then get the train.

Agreed with the other replies that for a race it isn't all that, but then again you mostly see so little anyway when you're at a track. What Monaco gives is some outstanding fun and access for the race weekend. If you've a connection or two or can blag with the best of them you could have a lot of fun :)

I'm down at Tribune O high - want to be able to look back at the marina whilst also making sure my photographs have enough elevation to be clear of the fences for that amazing high speed flick left right :)

If i was going to monaco i'd camp in Menton and ride into monaco.

I'd probably only go and watch practice, then just hang around on raceday and watch the race in a local bar.
