Mondeo 2.0 TDCI issues

Hello all, my dad has a 2006 mondeo 2.0 tdci which seems to have an issue...

When the car has been driven and it's fully warmed, then turned off for 10mins or so, upon restarting the car the engine will idle/stutter really low (5-600rpm) until the accellerator has been pumped 4-5 times then it will be faultless.

If the engine is then turned off, and switched back on straight away the problem doesn't re-appear :confused:

, like I say its only after being switched off for 10 mins

any thoughts to what the issue could be?

Could be a problem with the injectors?

Warm starting is a known issue apparently. The ECU needs some sort of software update. Just take it into any Ford dealer - they should know about it. You still within the warranty period?

Cheers Mark, will let him know so he can take it to Ford, he isnt within warranty unfortunatly but if it is only a software update thats not too bad

Could also be a coolant temp sensor...
