Mondeo mk3 front electric window problem

The drivers side front window has been playing up for a couple of days, EG I start to close and it stops half way and starts going down!

Then yesterday when the window started to go up I heard a snap followed by a few clunks! so I am guessing the cable has snappe :-(

looks like I can the cable kit from ebay for about £10 (without motor)..
Just wondering if it worth getting the motor just in case! sounds like the motor is still running if I press the button.

Probably just the cable/regulator mechanism has snapped. Happened to both my front doors (different car, mind).

If the motor can still be heard, chances are it's fine. Just get the repair kit.
