Does anyone know where I can find a comparison of trim levels of Mk3 Ford Mondeos - LX, Zetec, Zetec S, Ghia and Ghia X (2003-2004ish)?

I couldn't find anything useful online.

Thanks in advance.

THanks. It doesn't have what I'm after; was after what trim level would have cruise and heated windscresn.

Only got this from Whatcar: Intr as 5dr hatchback, 5dr estate and 4dr saloon. LX as base, with ABS, airbags, aircon, e/f/wins, s/f/r/seats, r/c/locking, alarm/immob, PAS, e/dr/seat/hgt/adj and RDS CD. Zetec adds alloys and e/r/wins. Ghia adds multi/CD, climate control, e/seats. Ghia X as Ghia plus lthr/seats, htd/f/seats and e/s/roof.

Just saw this earlier and thought my dad want to have a look at it: http://www.joes-garage.co.uk/cars-for-sale/ford-mondeo-mistral-1-8-5-door-2004-54.htm#top

He's not bothered about performance so the 1.8 will be enough for his needs. Seems decent enough motor and a few free gifts like free MOTs, first service free and more. Although looking online, £3.5k would be more reasonable.

Anyone know if that is equivalent to a Zetec trim level?

LX and above from mid 2003 has cruise. Pre 2003, it's Ghia X that has cruise.

As Fox said - the specs were adjusted quite a bit during the mid 03 facelift - the ghia X in particular gained a lot of kit!

Just had another question.

Just seen a 2005 05 1.8 Zetec for sale nearby and going to see tomorrow. http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...cleYearOfManufacture=2005&vehicleRegLetter=05

I cannot tell if this is a facelift model or not. Some sites are mentioning facelifts in 2003, others 2005, some both. Can anyone tell from the pic which it would be?

At the risk of appearing rude, why in Gods name are you looking to spend £4k on a 1.8 Mk3 Mondeo?

The Mk3 Mondeo is a good car, and can be good value if you value spec over big numbers on the plate, and small numbers on the odometer.

In short, look for 2.0 Ghia / Ghia X examples, buy on condition rather than mileage, and look further afield if neccesary...

IIRC there were two facelifts, and you should easily get change from £4k for a 5 year old (Facelift I) Ghia X...

I've been offered a 03 reg Ghia X (TDCI) with FFSH and 95k for £3,200 with a years MOT from a dealer.
Does this sound ok as a deal?
Car still feels ok as I test drove it, no starting issues and comes with the sat nav system fitted.

Im going to buy a 04 Zetec (TDCI) in Silver with 12 months MOT, 6 months Tax with 90k on the clock for £1700

Dont go spending 4k on these cars.

Got this in the end; same as above but from a trader. 2004 Mondeo 1.8, Zetec trim, 54k on the clock, 1 owner before dealer, facelifted and with aftermarket alarm system. Wasn't a bargain by any means but my dad said he liked it and it looks and sounds as new. He was also in a bit of a rush to get a replacement for the flooded Vectra, so I bought it for him. £3.4k incl. 3 months warranty and recently serviced. Trader was very firm and made haggling difficult unfortunately, seemed he would have been ok not selling it to us
