right just got my car back after a set of injectors and a fuel pump, the injectors were new and the fuel pump was 2nd hand the fuel pump came off a working 130 tdci mondeo.
everything is fine just when i hit high boost the glow plug light is flashing and it goes into limp mode.
now the error code that comes up is fuel pump making too much or not too low desired level

any ideas?

Possibly common rail pressure sensor

Could actually be crank sensor too, I've heard of those throwing up odd error codes

ive heard that crank sensor does come up with silly codes it happend before and it got adjusted
ive had that checked and apprantly the pumps are the same they make the same pressure

Why was the fuel pump changed anyway?

I think you need to seriously consider replacing this car - these cars need to be treated well and maintained properly, they're not the sort of thing you attach ebay tuning boxes to and rag about on the red line everywhere. You've already had at least one repair bodged, sounds like this one was too.

Buy something revvy and Japanese like a Celica 190 and sell this - just not to me!

Its getting sorted out and its not getting ragged and well treated ive spent a fortune on it why would I want it to go bang again. all my engine work was properly done and wasnt a bodge job in any way!
my old fuel pump didnt work with the new innjectors

How much did the injectors cost ya?

What is it with fords and the TCDi engine? There rubbish, you hear all sorts of problems the bloke over the road from me has a 52plate 130BHP model that he just has to basically refit a new engine, they seem to break a lot? Am I just imagining things but they seem to suffer huge problems?

Some of the older ones have problems from 01-03 lots had issues. From then on, just the normal problems you would find with any tdi.

Everything inc all the pipes and stuff cost £580 should have been a lot more but discount from ford helped

Without the contibution from Ford how would the injectors and pump inc labour and VAT, have cost??

Presumably the car is just over 3 years old?

Have a look on FFOC and modeo.org Loads of people there with glow plug lights and limp home....

ie they're declicate, fragile engines. Can't drive close the red because the engine will explode...can't drive low down the rev range and rely on the engine's torque because that will cause the DMF to fail. Superb!

No, I'll just repeat my point in very slightly different words in case it seaps in. They need proper maintenance (not being stuck together by a "m8" with parts from different cars) and don't like being thrashed with "tuning" boxes attached. They're pointless at higher revs anyway.

Funnily enough, I manage to drive mine in a perfectly smooth manner, while making good progress - it's older than the OPs and not even the slightest hint of injector issues, not even the tinniest puff of white smoke on startup...I wonder why that might be

A little experiment:

Crude, yes - but you get the point (OK MarkDavis probably doesn't, but the rest of you do)

I had this with my 2.2 Titanium X 2006. Turns out it was the EGR valve which needed replacing and which is a VERY common fault.

Fortunately this done under warranty.

Generally they just get crudded up, which is an easy (albeit messy) job - although if it's under warranty no harm in a replacement :)

It's worth checking on the OPs car - they starve the engine of oxygen so might make it think it's getting too much fuel....
