Mondeo vs Superb

Looking at similar models from say 2002 on a 52 plate, the Mondeo 2.0TDCI 130bhp and the Superb 1.9TDI PD 130bhp. They are both available with a decent specification for between £6k and £8k depending on condition with the Skoda maybe £500 more all else being equal.

So which makes the better large diesel used car purchase and why?

Thanks for the replies - good information. It's not for myself, just someone I was talking to recently. Personally I think the Mondeo is the way to go due to better handling...
