Monetizing a forum

Hi,

My friend currently runs a SMF forum for old consoles and games etc, however, it seems nearly impossible to add in a system for advertising and making money from it.

So he is after suggestions for moving to another forum system that would make it easier.

Any suggestions or advice on the best way to do it?

How many visitors per day are you receiving? Forums are notoriously difficult to monetise I'm afraid.

I've used SMF many times, and it's pretty easy to add Adsense etc - not sure it'd be any easier with any other forum script.

I'd be careful of using adsense on a forum(user generated content is a dangerous area) and you don't really get second chances with adsense. If its a busy forum over say 100k visits a month get in contact with "premiumcpm" I've been using them for a while and they have a very well paying system.
