The new EVGA GeForce GTX 980 is powered by the next generation NVIDIA Maxwell Architecture, giving you incredible performance, unmatched power efficiency, and cutting-edge features.

Maxwell is the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next generation gaming. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. For the first time, gaming GPU's can dynamically render indirect light using the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination technology). Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment.

The GTX 980 is the worlds fastest GPU and the GTX 970 offers the most advanced performance in its class. Each delivers 2x the performance of previous-generation card, bringing new gaming experiences to virtual reality, and ultra resolution 4k displays.

Enable the detail of 4k monitors, on a 1080P display. DSR produces smoother images by rendering a game at a high resolution, then downscaling it to the native resolution of the display using advanced filtering.

GeForce GTX 980 and 970 cards support tear-free, super-fast NVIDIA G-Sync monitor display technology including 4k. Together, these technologies provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experiences possible.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

That is a fair chunk more expensive than a normal 980! Will be interesting to see what a 'standard' one of these can do though! Will wait for the 980ti Classy :D

Also from the specs etc this and the ftw are the same factory overclock?

I would love a couple of these but the price is too much for my blood. I do look forward to the results from these mind and interested on how far they go on water or even just air alone.

I believe KingPin is in the 2100-2200MHz core region on these.
General consumers probably don't care too much about LN2 results though...what they are interested is the average highest achievable clock on air, so they can compare to the performance of the standard 980 that cost £100-£120 less.

If these are anything like the 780ti classys then they will be a complete waste of money with reference cards matching and beating clocks in some cases...not to mention all the BIOS troubles...

a week later BOOOOM KIng pins shizzle my nizzle edition :D , also price is crazy just for a name the chip probably is not even binned ?

i personally didn't believe that any binning goes on with any of the mfrs as i think the clock speeds they advertise are pretty conservative. having said that, my g1 will not do classy clock speeds when u take gpu boost 2.0 into account - it can easily achieve the peak boost speeds advertised (well in excess in fact), but undervolts in lower bins causing instability. obviously a classy or hof with base speed of 1300 or whatever and boost around 1400 needs to work in all conditions, etc. so perhaps they do bin the chips! that or the bios voltage tables are modified.

fwiw, smokey the bear over on OCN has had a couple of these (i think, i didn't read the whole thread). he didn't get much past 1550 which is not a great oc for such a dedicated card. really think it's not the best choice for 24/7ers, it's for o/c hobbyists chasing benchmark scores and playing with ln2 etc.
