I dont get this, why do people get them selfs in such a mess and spend 10k of some one elses money then O NO IM SCREWED. Dont take it personally but it is your own fault and now you have learnt a lesson. Dont spend what you dont have :)

Didn't say it wasn't my fault?

People learn from their mistakes but i forgot half the people on here don't make mistakes, and your crap smells like roses right?

Well, let's hope you learn and don't take out any more loans after this one is sorted.

Anyway.

£400 a month on food is too much. Sort that out. We feed two adults and a baby on about £200, so one person should be a doddle for a hundred.

Ditch three of your phones.

Find a way to cut your travel costs. Can you not get a season ticket? £11 is obscene.

Didn't we tell you all this when you went through the farce of almost spending £10,000 on a brand new Punto, and you told us all you didnt care and it wasn't anything to do with us?

You poured scorn on peoples financial advise then, yet expect help now?

was thinking that to, I remember that thread.

Oh well... told you so :)

Just phone them up and explain the situation you are in.

you are in employment, they are gonna get their money either way. They can be arsey at times, but you arent exactly in "trouble"

OT:

Hedge, that is the most random signature on the internet.

Is that a hand with a question mark coming out of it?

I drew it in paint. I was bored.

Should probably make a thread where everyone can draw random sigs:)

I would usually have sympathy for people in lots of debt due to increased cost of living etc, having unexpected bills, etc.

But just spending on luxuries?! You obviously have no idea whatsoever of the value of money.

Its a hard lesson to learn and you wont learn it from this I'm sure. Maybe when you have to run a place of your own and become completely self sufficient, maybe?

Take a chill pill. It's only 10k. Easily managable. I can't believe anyone would even offer help for that if you are in employment.

i wouldnt go as far as saying "only 10k" but you are right about the rest.

im 5k, which is less, but im no longer employed so my situation is far more serious.

Missing one loan payment is nothing when you are earning

If you've ****** away your money I have absolutely no sympathy. And 4 phones?! and a car?!

And FOUR HUNDRED POUNDS A MONTH on food?! I gal'darn eat splendid food but can't see how to spend that much! (No fancy shops here in Plymouth :p) - takeaways maybe? Cut 'em out.

Open Excel, do a spreadsheet of your outgoings, and cut down as much as you can. Then cut down more. Then ask someone responsible (someone with a clue) to cut down the rest of the useless luxuries/rubbish.

Then you'll be sorted.

It seems harsh, perhaps, but it's better to kick it now than tip-toe around for months on end doing the bare minimum :)

i would say its only 10k, its nothing if on a decent rate over atleast 5 years in term.
he just needs to stop being a fool and sort himself out.

We can all sit and go 'haha told you so', good job some people make the effort to help!

Ive got a mate who was about £5k in debt, adn its taken him about 6 months to pay it off, mainly by living very cheaply and not buying items he wants until he knows it OK to buy them. Basically, cut your lifestyle back, stop spending money on the car, stop going out as much and stop spending £100 a week on shopping, you can probably do all your shopping with £25-35 a week if you go for the value stuff.

Selling trhe car an option, even if its for a cheaper car? If it is then think about it as it could pay off a considerable chunk.

People make mistakes. You make more than your fair share.

Whats your monthly payment on the £10k?

I would never get a loan that I could not pay back by either selling assests or using savings.

Also I would be very worried about a loan with the why interest rates are going up. You could easily be forced to pay more a month on the loan.

The reason why this country is ****** up is with people going out getting loans or using credit cards to spend on stuff, people need to get paid for working in shops or making the stuff and if everything is paid on debt then nothing is truly paid for and its just make believe money.
