Hi all,

i have this monitor brought a few weeks ago
Samsung C32HG70 32" 2560x1440 VA FREESYNC 144Hz Gaming Quantum DOT HDR Widescreen Curved Monitor connected via Displyport

i keep getting an issue when on desktop and in-game.
the issue on he desktop is when i move the mouse pointer the screen sort of flickers and gets lighter and darker very quickly, on a dark image its looks like my mouse pointer is a torch.

in-game say battlefield 1 it does the same and while loading a game the screen will flicker when i move the mouse pointer over to join game etc or any options. i have tryed turning the HDR off and the problem is still there. i even turned the HDR off and the brightness up and i still see it.

another problem i will have sometimes is when i have HDR on and i play battlefield the battlefiled will go so bright i cant see anything, i mean the sky will be brighter than the sun :P and i have to look at the floor.

card im using is
PowerColor Radeon RX VEGA 64 Red Devil 8GB HBM2 PCI-Express Graphics Card

i also have a second benq 144mhz monitor connected via HDMI

any help on this would be great before i go insane :D

You need to isolate the problem. Do you have the problem if you connect the monitor to a different port on your graphics card. Do you have the same problem on the other monitor. Have a play around

In regards to the mouse pointer on a dark image you may have local dimming on which should be on auto so that it works when using HDR only. Depending on your ambient light you should use no higher than 15- 20 brightness on non HDR sources.

In regards to flickering, the latest AMD driver introduced flickering on my setup so I would use a previous driver just to check. Unless your talking about in game where you have Freesync enabled and are going lower than 60 fps. This monitor like the 27 inch version may suffer from overdrive artifacts that can cause flickering so turn off Freesync to see.

In BF1 you should use HDR10 and change the HDR brightness settings to match the white boxes. This is a different setting to the normal brightness on the graphics screen. And then make sure to increase monitor brightness in the osd to maximum.

Also disable the second monitor while you test these things.

I play BF1 with HDR and it's more or less perfect on my 27HG70.
