Hi guys,

Looking to buy a monitor for gaming (I only play ARMA 2 and will play BF3 when it's released). I know budget isn't huge, but currently using a 17.5 inch so need to step up. Don't need anything fancy in terms of speakers and ports etc.

Question - At a given resolution, is it preferable to have a smaller screen? I.e at 1920 would a 22inch give a better picture than a 25inch?

Thanks

Personally I prefer to have a larger screen size, within reason. I just bought a 24 inch 1920x1080 monitor and it's just right (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-067-IY&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat= looks like it's out of stock as it's been on offer), previously i had a 19 inch 1680x1050, which felt too small (in terms of pixel size) because afaik it's the smallest size 1680 monitor you can get, so text/ small images in games were often too small to see without leaning forward/squinting.

As long as you can't see individual pixels youre fine, and you wont untill you get to crazy 30+ inches.

I game on a tv @ 60hz, no problem. Just think of all the action films you watch on a normal tv, that is not jerky and that is only 24fps on a 60hz display.

I've got a BenQ G2420HD - great monitor (also comes in LED, but doesn't have the HDMI when you do that)

I paid 135 for it. I plan on getting another 1 (or 2) when I have the cash.

Both look like nice monitors, now there's a spanner in the works!

Looking at the reviews, the Liyama seems to not have an adjustable stand, I don't know how much this will annoy me. But the BenQ G2420HD has a glossy effect which I dislike.
