Well, I don't know if it's of much 'help' but gaming at that resolution is pretty hard for a graphics card, specially with all gfx settings turned up. I don't know which card you currently have, but have you thought about that? :)
The dell has a better contrast ratio but the samsung a bit better response time although I don't think you will notice the difference between 6 and 8ms.
HD is 1920x1080 so ye that resolution will be higher but if you play a HD movie it will be 'stretched' to 2560x1600 :)

Comeradealexi, if you drop me an email in my trust.

The dell screen is very nice. 2560x1600 is a resource hog though, you will need an sli setup to get the most from it.

I see - i have a 8800 GTS...

but im not sure if i should buy another xfx 8800 gts and put them in SLI or get one really good card...

New cards are out in less than a month, I definately wouldn't buy anything now, wait and see what ati and nvidia bring to the table on their release dates.

don't bother with running 2560x1600 on 8800GTS - wait while for new cards to come out (or price of 8800GTS to drop) but I've got a dell 2407wfp-hc that i run all games at 1920x1200 on my 8800GTX and it looks amazing! Friend of mine has one of the dell 30's which he had 2 ultra's to power, he said the games ran like cr4p with just one.
But then again he more money than sense.
