hi guys, first post so apologies if this is in an incorrect section.
I have had a terrible experience with a recent Acer monitor purchase. It was a 27” monitor with Gsync, 1080p 144hz and Tobii eye tracking. It had a weird issue where there was some colours that would stick right across the screen and it’s taken months for me to get my refund. (Full disclosure, this was not with Overclockers)
During this experience I have found that Acer monitors have a bit of a lottery to them. So I figure that if I was to spend a bit more then I would have a better time of it. My concern now though is in the potential for dead pixels, back light bleed and whatnot.
My dream monitor is this one, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lg-3...65hz-gaming-widescreen-monitor-mo-14p-lg.html but I want to know whether this has a good reception from users (I don’t trust journalistic reviews for this, it’s clear that some monitor manufacturers send out perfect units to them as evidenced in a recent Asus quality control video.
As this is an £800 monitor, I would want it to be as perfect as it can be, and overclockers don’t seem to offer a dead pixel guarantee which is worrying!
I would also want to know whether I would expect some long term enjoyment out of it with a GTX 1070, i7 7700k, 16gb for a solid playable experience and whether switching to 1080p on this would be a viable solution for when things get a bit slow?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to go through what I did before!
